These Cabbage Rolls Are Good, Healthy Too!
What do you do with cabbage that you didn't have a plan for?
There was some cabbage in my fridge it needed to be used up and after looking up recipes for kimchi (a fermented cabbage dish with veggies) I wasn’t sure I was ready for that amount of patience in food yet. It was then that thoughts of cabbage rolls entered my mind. The memory of how my great aunts house smelled when she was making them brought me to Google in search of a recipe since I could not reach her for our family recipe. Of course I couldn’t find any that sounded any good or that were really healthy. It was then that a light turned on (I am positive my husband saw the light bulb above my head). Instead of using ground beef why not use ground turkey, and instead of white rice why not a wild & brown rice mix? Ooooo my mind was cooking up a storm all ready! I should have taken pictures of these glorious pockets of deliciousness but by they time I thought of it they were gone. My husband didn’t leave any left overs for me he took them all to work!
Melissa’s Healthy Cabbage Rolls
1 can whole pealed tomatos
1 can tomato paste
1 good sized head of cabbage or 2 small heads (I used a small green and a small purple)
*reserve the best 12 leaves from the outside of the cabbage trying not to tear or damage them they will be wrapped around the rolls
1lbs ground turkey
1 egg (beaten)
1 small white onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic chopped
1 ½ tsp ground white pepper
1-2 Tbsp ground chilli powder
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 ½ C cooked rice (I prefer Lundberg Mahogany Blend, it adds a great nutty flavor and is a raw food)
Salt & Pepper to taste
Preheat Oven to 375
Cook the rice as directed on package. While the rice is cooking boil the reserved leaves of cabbage until soft, remove from water and let drain. Place the tomatos, tomato paste, chilli powder, and nutmeg in blender and blend till smooth. Chop the remaining cabbage and blend with the chopped onion, chopped garlic, white pepper and salt to taste. Mix together by hand the beaten egg and ground turkey and add the seasoned veggie mix and rice to the meat and egg. Form the meat mixture into balls that are a bit smaller than a baseball. Wrap the meat balls with the 2 cabbage leaves place in greased pan. Once all of the meat is used pour over the tomato sauce from the blender.
Bake 45mins @ 375
I hope that everyone enjoys this as much as my family did. This recipe works great if you need to prep it the day before you want to bake it.

Ground and Grow: Spring Cleansing of Body, Thought and Spirit
Since spring time is upon us I wanted to do something about spring cleansing! It is not my specialty so here is a great article by Rebecca Norton, the link to the entire article is at the bottom. Enjoy!
Ground and Grow: Spring Cleansing of Body, Thought and Spirit
As we now enter into Spring the tiny and committed buds begin to bloom effortlessly. Naturally detoxifying foods like dandelion, berries, and fresh greens start to call to our bodies. The sun is out for longer and inside there is a stirring for growth, change, and new life. Cleansing with a holistic model can empower not just our bodies but help us to align with natural and Divine principles.
I hear it around town a lot these days, “I really need to cleanse” however most people have no idea where to start. We have become paralyzed by our modern day choices. There is everything from the most traditional and religious practices, to the infamous Master Cleanse, to numerous “cleanse in box” concoctions to choose from. I am sure there are many amazing testimonials from any number of these options. However the issue I often hear from clients is that they will have powerful experiences during a cleanse, and then easily fall back into old habits once the cleanse is finished.

Rolfing
Rolfing is a system of bodywork that was created in the 70's by Dr. Ida Rolf. It focuses on freeing restrictions in the connective tissue that surrounds the muscles to bring balance back to your body's structure.
Yet what does all of this mean? It must be good stuff if Dr. Oz says that you need it!!!
So I asked our Rolfer Adriane Anile. She told me something that really made sense! "Rolfing does for your muscles what chiropractors do for your bones".
When our bodies are out of allignment the result can be anything from chronic pain and poor posture to impaired breathing capacity. Rolfing helps to restore balance and facilitate the body's own healing process. Why hasn't everyone tried Rolfing?
I highly recomend checking out Adriane's website for more info on Rolfing and how it can help alleviate headaches, body aches and restore balance to your body. She also has links to some really great articles!

Marketing, Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
So I am finding that marketing is not so hard this week! It just never ends, never ever ends. Between keeping up with 2 blogs, Facebook and 2 twitter accounts I am so glad it is Friday! I now know why people pay so much money for marketing. I definitely see its value and am wondering if I went into the wrong business.
Hmmm let me think for a moment. Did I really say that out loud? Ok maybe I just need a bigger marketing budget so that I can pay people to do this stuff for me!
If you would like to see what I have been up to on the internet here is a link to my office blog:

A New Bodywork Technique!
Have you ever heard of the Muscle Activation Technique (M.A.T.)? I had only heard the name until a few weeks ago then I met Coach Barb (one of the only 1,500 practitioners in the US). Barb Renier is a personal trainer as well as a M.A.T. specialist.
So right about now you are asking yourself what makes M.A.T. so special and what is it?
M.A.T. helps to reduce and prevent pain by looking at muscle tightness as a form of protection in the body. Weak or inhibited muscles (due to stress, trauma or overuse) can create the need for other muscles to overwork in order to stabilize joints thru compensation. M.A.T. gets to the root of the pain or injury by addressing muscle weakness rather than muscle tightness which helps to restore normal body alignment, thereby, decreasing or eliminatng pain. This is different from massage because in massage it works on the muscles to help reduce tightness and the pain that "knots" can cause.
For more in-depth information about muscle activation and to learn more about this technique visit Barb's Website at http://www.coachbarb.com/
